A dinosaur on the loose!

A Dinosaur on the Loose!

This week in KS1 a dinosaur has been heard on the school grounds. This term, teachers right across school will be delivering the creative curriculum using a teaching technique called Mantle of the Expert. On Tuesday the Gruffalos agreed that a dinosaur had crashed through the classroom and that for some reason it was in a hurry.

Today, PC Sutherland from South Yorkshire Police commissioned the children to provide him with a reconstruction of the scene immediately after the dinosaur had entered the classroom.

The children decided on 4 main happenings:

1. The dinosaur smashed through the wall and left a hole in the whiteboard.
2. The force of this left debris around the hole in the wall.
3. Footprints were visible, formed by the dusty debris.
4. droplets of blood were visible scattered around the scene.

The children then assigned responsibilities to produce a reconstruction of the incident and provide a picture that captured the aftermath of this exciting event.

PC Sutherland is now awaiting an email which provides an explanation of the event and the children's knowledge of what took place. The children have until 3.00pm on Friday to respond.

Here are some images of our mantle work this week, so far...

 Brilliant fun!!
